944 n/a to Turbo

Does any one know if the 944 turbo front bumper is a direct fit for the 944 n/a, or is speacial fitting required. Can I do it myself or must I take it to a professional?

Its a direct fit if you replace the front fenders, headlight covers, plastic headlight trim rings and nose panel with the ones from a 944 Turbo.

You can modify your existing fenders to fit the shape of the turbo bumper, but the nose panel does not fit the shape of the front bumper perfectly. There will be a noticeable gap in the center.

Hey, at the moment I am doing the same conversion to my car, you will also have to replace the metal under bumper and bumper shocks aswell, I am still looking for a nose piece for my car, for the hasle it would just be cheaper to replace the quarters. Give me a shout if you have anymore questions , im knee deep already in buying parts lol so I cant turn back now

so let me get this straight first buy a complete turbo front end bumper with shocks and backing plate. Then purchase a turbo center nose panel, after that either buy new front fenders or do what to the existing ones to make them work with the new set up?

The existing ones need to be moulded and formed by a bodyman to fit the bumper properly.. its a rough job.. but i have a car that has it done.. PO did it..so.. im not sure how hard it is...
Not too simple tho.. do it at home and it'll look ghetto!

If I buy turbo fenders will they be a direct fit. I plan on buying all the parts used from a junkyard except for the nose piece as I will buy this part new because of the aftermarket vents, I have seen on this car. If the turbo fenders will fit on the N/A I will do the front end conversion myself and just have the car sprayed by a run of the mill collision shop.

Wreckers all over the country you just have to search, I have already found this complete setup at different yards, and all you have to do is let your fingers do the walking.

Thank you, all who answered for all your helpfull knowledge.

the vented nose piece is from a 924 turbo, not the 944.
they will not work for your application as they are the same shape as the NA bumper..

It isnt to bad when it comes to cost for the conversion, depends on if your buying new or used...

Everything used for the entire conversion is costing me about 1000 shipped to my door. New would be about 3 grand.....
