Early / 924S oil gauge
I have a couple of problems with the oil pressure gauge on my 924S.
The plastic housing is cracked, but I have a good one from an early 944. What are the odds of me being able to get the metal ring off the good gauge without destroying anything so that I can transfer the plastic housing to my 924S one. The other problem is that the needle wiggles around, even after I replaced the sending unit. Does this mean that the actual oil pressure really moves around like that, or could it be a gauge issue or maybe I bought a bad sender? The early 944 gauge wiggles too, but I could swear it doesn't do it as much as the original 924S one. It might've been an aftermarket sending unit... I can't remember and it's been a couple of years. |

The ground for the oil pressure gauge is under the dash and behind the fuse/relay panel. A real female dog to get to...

Man... up there? I thought everything in the center console grounded behind the glove box. I hate getting up around the big cluster of grounds. At least I'll have the dash off this winter for another project I'm doing.
But the other question, has anyone been able to crack open an early oil pressure gauge without destroying the plastic housing? |
