Differences between S Engines

Just curious why the two S engines i have at the local shop are differently wired?

The one is an 87 that is coming out... the other is the 88 ... Both are 16V engines from the same era.

The 88 engine that is going into the 87 Shell had cruise control, airbags and abs. The shell did not have these... The thing im wondering about is the engine wiring harness.. apparently they are different.

Just looking for a little bit of aide!

same motor/hp but depending on options different wiring/fuses/relays.

my 87844S had as an option, a non airbag wheel but the 951 has the ab wheel.
