Sunroof

ok. i know about 1st position key but when i push the sunroof button i only hear the motor moving nothing else happenes. the sun roof is siliconed closed but it is not closed all the way. looks horrible. so right now i just cut the silicone, pushed up on the rear and it is now elevated. the arms are not released. if i push down on the top it will go back down, but not all the way flush. im trying to either close this all the way or fully remove it. any ideas?
this is very frustrating

update

I pulled the cover off and found that the hing on the sunroof peice was broke, which made it not seat correctly. i also found that the cable was binded on each side.
The white box in the center has 4 allan bolts. these just keep turning and dont seem to back out at all. to replace the cable will i need to remove this? Also im not sure if the broken hinge made the cable buckle. what else would do that.?

Becouse the hing was is broke i cannot put it back on. i have a few days of sun on the way but really need this part bad. and fast. if you have one, please advise. i have paypal.

IIRC you will have to get the gear box down to run the cables back through. you might be able to back the bolts out by applying (lightly) some downward pressure on the gearbox while you turn the bolts.

while you have it open check your gear teeth for wear. if they are i've seen metal replacement gears.

i'm not sure what hinge piece you are talking about... if it's one of the wind deflector hinges you can remove the deflector for now so you can sit your sunroof back in.
