Hit the fuses box, car stalled
Accidentally hit the fuse box with "my left foot" (man I loved watching that movie ) when was stepping out of my 87 924S while car was idling and I guess some shor was done, my engine shot down . Tried to restart but it was just cranking. Then I hit lightly the box again but no help. Two, three times... still won't start.
What did I hit? |

I had an early 924 (77 I think) with the fuse box under the driver side dash. I believe the fuel pump relay had a fuse stuck onto the top of the relay that could easily be dislodged by bumping it. If I were you, I would check first to see if there is any such relay with a fuse and replace any missing fuse or if you simply knocked a relay loose (try simply re-seating the relays).

Funny thing happened today.
I was able to start the engine, it run for a minute, two and then I heard "puff" where fuse and relay are and engine shut off. Tryied to restart it won't. An hour later started again and again same sound "puff"?????? |

On the early 944 and 924S cars, there is a likelihood that you may have a burned terminal on the connector at the back of the fuse box that is burned. That terminal is usually the fuel pump power.
