Fuel Rail

Does anyone here have a fuel rail for sale? Mine is leaking from the weld.

Message sent although I couldn't find anything specifically on fuel rails. I have seen them on ebay from time to time, so just another place to check.

contact plyhammer. You need one from an early car though. the ones from a late care are different.

Man I hate those fuel rails. Mine did that after my motor mounts went (when it rains it pours). My dad silver soldered it and that held for a few days, until I punished it on some twisties. I got a used one from a pelicanite and hadn't had any trouble since....well other than the clutch...and I haven't drove it for months....either how, best of luck, i feel your pain!!

What scares me is it was leaking for a long time and I could have been a rolling ball of fire. Not a pleasant thought after all the money/hard work I have in it. Hehehe

I feel your concern Dave. Just make sure when you put the new one in, you tighten down the fuel hoses. You dont want to know how I know about that one.

Let's just say that gas really does ignite when it flows over a hot exhaust, and plastic doesn't really like fires.

Sounds like a good price though.

The fuel rails were recalled once upon a time by Porsche, check your dealership, you may be able to get it fixed for free. There was a fuel hose connected to the rail that was problematic as well. Check carfax.com!

Just a thought Dave, you might aught to reaplace the injector o-rings while you're at it. I know they can be a problem and for all the more work/money than it is, i'd just replace the o-rings too.

You ever find a rail? I have my old one from the 84. I bought a Lindsey and don't need it. It does not have injectors or dampers, I gave them away a year or so ago. You can have it for the postage.
