You and your friend should have a little get together and read your 944 Owner's Manuals.

cap pressure on a 968 should be 18-19lbs

ok, i'll bite... what does it say?

I'll give you a hint. . .it says how much coolant should be in the tank when the car is cold.

nynor 07-08-2008 02:29 PM

if its full, its full.

flash968 07-08-2008 03:08 PM

it will be fuller hot than cold, hence filling to full when cold can result in enough expansion to force the excess out of the system - you have to allow for the expansion, and not fill it to full when cold

yeah, i got that. i am not really worried about stuff coming out of the overflow, as long as it the level stays where it needs to be. i was hoping that the other poster might have some esoteric knowledge to share.

Just teasing you man. The manual says to fill it to MIN when cold. You aren't the first person to fill to MAX and wonder why coolant keeps coming out of the overflow. . .
