hatch seal question

hi,
i have had some trouble finding the numbers for the hatch seals. it seems that the one on the lid/hatch is part # 944 512 043 00. what is the number of the bottom seal that is on the car itself?

That's all there is. There isn't more then 1 seal.

That's the seal that's on the car itself. But if you've got a leaky hatch that probably won't fix it. I had to re-seal my hatch window to fix the leaks.

Resealing the glass is different. It's not a rubber seal. It's basically glue. What you had was glass seperation. known to happen on these cars. Not an easy fix in the least and not for the faint of heart. Most recommend to just replace the hatch with a different used one.

You're right, and it was worse than replacing the water pump! I used the 3M primer and Windo-Weld urethane stuff which works great. Ernest, I hope you don't have to go through what I did! Best of luck with the hatch seal.

If the problem is you are getting fumes in your car...then get a new seal...if it's water...then you need to look at the window being glued to the window frame.

i am having water problems. when the car is tilted backwards, there is no problem. when the car is tilted forwards, water gets into my back seats and carpet. my sunroof is not leaking and the drain by the drivers column, i just replaced. the glass is perfect without any separation. the seal is old but looks soft and pliable. perhaps TOO pliable and it is dented by the top two hinges. i have tried all of the obvious. it has to be getting in from the top and leaking inwards. it's hard to tell when its raining but....

Since you said you replaced the drain....Was it leaking before you did that?

Take a garden hose out there and try to watch where it's coming from.
