Question 968 Slave Cylinder in a 944? Try #2

Hmm, don't know what happened to the contents of the first post, but here it is...

I ordered the wrong part in a rush. I picked up a 968 Clutch Slave Cylinder (944-116-237-02-M33) for my 944S2. I didn't notice until I took it out of the box. Hmm, that's interesting, the Bleeder valve is at an angle... The proper part number is 944-116-237-00-M33.

So, can I use the 968 Slave cylinder on my 944S2? Or should I bite the bullet and order the correct part and overnight it so I have it this weekend?

I'm jones'en to drive the car again after a full clutch job, and the wife is increasing her nag factor. The nagging is worse than the Jones'en.

Thanks for your help on this...

Mike

Pretty sure you can, but have not tried. The Angle is because bleeder needs to clear the under body. The 968 Engine has longer Bellhouse and puts the Slave right up edge.

Can't think if the threads would be different on hose-slave, but that would be the only possible catch I could think of.

I would at least measure the length of the rod.

I ended up ordering the 944 Slave with overnight shipping. I'd rather spend the extra bucks and just get er done... I'm so close.

That's the best thing to do. Do not rush these things.
