Question Another Starts & Stalls?????????

I have an 84 944 that starts and stalls iv checked everything, today my co workers 85.5 flooded with water in the interior. now its doing the exact same thing. mine also flooded from a leaking window but i didnt think it had any connection to my problem. starts stalls but if you unplug the coolant sensor it will keep running. are there any electronics under the seat? the water didn't get up to the dme.

Dont know about early cars, but late cars have the wiring & plug for power passanger seat. Should effect it, but could of blown a fuse.

If it works OK when you unplug the coolant sensor then the sensor may have gone bad. It happened to me with the same symptoms. High impedance indicates cool engine temperature and engine management adjust the fueling accordingly. If sensor is bad it may show low impedance and this means engine hot. The engine management will then supply wrong fueling and the engine stalls. When you disconnect the sensor you effectively tell the engine management the engine is cold and this is why it seem works. It all looks coincidental but is a strong possibility. Check the coolant sensor impedance and make sure none of the inlet pins are grounded to the ground. (impedance from ground two any of the two pins of the sensor should be infinity. A cold engine should show around 4-5k ohms between the two pins.
