What do you need big brakes for? They just slow you down.

Rennbay makes a bolt on setup for the front only. Upside is you can retain 15'' wheels and do not need to swap spindles.

There is also the factory option available from the 951 / S2. You will need to change the front spindles however (in your case ones from an '86 turbo).

I upgraded using the 951 / S2 setup on my '87 n/a. More braking power than a 147bhp, 2700lb car would ever need. I favor the factory setup because it replaces both front and rear with 4-piston calipers and also the benefit of larger rotors (better heat capacity).

another option is to go with Jaguar XKJ front brake calipers. They are huge 4 pot but are made of steel and not Aluminum. There is a write up about the upgrade on www.porschehybrids.com

First step is to let us know what is inadequate about what you have- What are you trying to improve?

I race a 944 on completely stock brakes. With nothing more than fresh fluid and Porterfield pads, I can out-brake most others in my class.

First make sure your system is operating as it should.

If you want big brakes because they look cool, then just install whatever you think looks best.
