Oil pressure sender question
I was trying to repair the wires that go to my oil pressure sender and one of the little bolts that the wires connect to broke in half. Then i noticed that the bolts have a little piece of wire inside. So my question is are those little wires important? or should i be able to get away with just fitting it on the best i can?

Hello ace_944 (87na),
The little wires are soldered to the tip you broke off. If you are careful you could clean carefully, apply flux and gently solder: 1.the little bit of wire visible in the OP sending switch 2.to the OP sending switch stubby post remaining 3.to a short piece of 16/18 guage stranded copper wire This assumes you can still see a bit of the wire-hopfully hanging out 1/8 inch from the OP sending switch If successful join the new strand of wire to the harness- "G" or "WK" If this fails, hop in another car and purchase locally for $60/80 or have it shipped for $40. Pelican Parts has both VDO and FAE I have not tried this repair, it just was an idea or temporary fix. John_AZ |

The tip I broke off took the little wire with it. Guess I'll just buy another one. Thanks for the input though.
