power steering pump mount

I have to replace the power steering pump mount and want to make sure I'm not going to run into anything I can't handle as I'm new at this. Tips or suggestions appreciated. Thanks, Coastie.

You need to remove the balance shaft belt and sprocket. Good time to replace the shell bearing in the mount itself and the thrust sleeve. Make sure you have a clear replacement mylar seal and outter seal.

Come to think of it, im pretty sure you need to remove the rear portion of the timing belt cover to get access to it...which is a whole other project in itself.. and adds a bunch of those 'while your in theres' such as replacing the timing belt, waterpump, oil pump drive sleeve and other oil seals while its all apart.

Having done this before, it's quite easy. make sure you get a mount from a late car. early ones will not work, their mounting holes are different.

In a nutshell, you have to remove everything on the front. So, belts, covers & water pump. So if it's time for these, do them now. Also make sure you get a new seal for the new mount, yours is most likely flattened out.

If you didn't have to go all the way down to the water pump it would be a pretty easy job. But you do, so it's just a time consuming one.
