dieseling problem

Can a vacuum leak cause the car to diesel when I turn it off?

My car dieseled when I had a huge vacuum leak under the intake manifold and it went away when I fixed the vacuum leak.

That must be my problem, a vacuum leak. My car will diesel every once in a while and the idle jumps around when the car is cold or hot. I will check all my vacuum lines, thanks.
