They made it a challenge. I just replaced one on an 85.5 a few weeks ago and had a lot of trouble with it. Part of my trouble was that I didn't remove the old one so I didn't pick up on the nuances of how the mounting system should work.
The trick on the top bolts is to not completely remove them. Leave enough of the bolt in place so that the rubber mounts stay in place while the radiator is wrestled in. You need to get the bottom of the radiator in place first and then ease the top in. At that point you can tighten the upper mount bolts until the radiator is secure. On my replacement radiator the channels for the bottom mounts had lips that were to large and I fought it in and out several times before I compared them to the original. I knocked 1/8" or so off of the front lip and it seated right in place. With the lips that were to large I couldn't get the radiator to clear the rubber mounts on the bottom without peeling them out of their respective holes in the lower radiator mounting bracket. I hope that makes sense. ...Lee

I only had 2 on mine, one on each side, and it seems to be holding just fine.
