whats a good suspension

what is a cheap but decent suspension. i want something fully adjustable. there are already ugraded struts on the car so im more of looking for a coil-over. i know ground control makes a set and they are great quality i have used them before. just seeing if there are anymore out there that are recomended

No such thing as a decent and cheap suspension, espcially if you want fully adjustable.

For an early car though you dont have many options like the escort edit. Go with Koni's.

Ya, Koin's all around to start... What do you want to do with the car though? Why do you want to get coil-overs? You can just replace the front springs and the rear torsion bars if you want a sporty set-up. Its all about what you are trying to do and how much money you want to spend. I have stock torsion bars and springs, with Koni's all around and turbo 944 sway bars. This is a very good set-up for street and auto-cross/DE. Any more and it may be getting to harsh for being a daily driver (for me anyways).

well im looking to build the car for a luxury but sporty style. like for the rims i want to get the techart rims and lower it just to the top of the tire. i want to put the turbo front end and rear valance, i got a alpine flip screen in it...etc. i also want to add some aftermarket cams and etc to get some more hp and torque out of it but keep it n/a.

LOL, I don't see why you said cheap! Yes, if you have putting on those 18" wheels and want to lower the car as well, you should have a stiff suspension, or you will bottom out a lot. If you get heavier weight front springs this will stiffen and a lot of them lower your ride height as well. For the back you can do coil-overs or get a bigger torsion bar and get adjustable shocks that will let you lower your ride height a bit that way. All of this will cost big money to do though!

Define cheap! No such thing on a Porsche no matter what model. I have an 83 and did the following:

Koni adjustable on all 4 wheels
Replaced original f&R sway bars with bars from a 951
New sway bar bushings
Replaced front springs with Weltmiester 200# springs
Replaced top mounts on the front struts
Added front tower strut brace

Price all of these parts and you are over a 1g

Add new brakes, brake lines, rebuild calipers, paint, wheels and tires, alignment and this stuff adds up.

Rides and handles better than new.

There are many articles to read on 944 handling. There are plenty of previous posts (many with pics) here to what many members have done to their cars. IMO, this is the cheapest performance upgrade you can do to this car; make it handle and stop better.

Is it cheap? - no way.
