Hit a Deer, headlight motor question

Hit a deer this morning and messed up the drivers side of my 944 N/A. Turned the car off when I got to work, headlights went 1/2 way down and stopped. Tried to turn the light on and get the motor to come back up and nothing happened. Is there a fuse? Or did I possibly screw up my headlight motor? Broke the small pivot arms on the drivers side headlight assembly so gotta find some parts, but wanted to see if I possibly need a motor as well. Thanks Mike 325-227-0213

It's very possible you popped either the fuse or one of the diodes in there - seen this happen before with obstructed headlights. To check the diodes, you'd need to remove the headlight motor, pull the rubber cover off (a PITA), and use a multimeter with a diode check function to verify they're OK.

Good news is that if that's what's bad, you can get cheapo replacements from Radio Shack...

Well, got home and I was blessed to have only minor damage. Ended up being jamed. Got it apart and made it work till I get some parts in next week. Messed the fender up pretty bad. Broke a few parts on the light. Mike
