There's gold in them thar...shocks.
While doing my rear swaybar upgrade, I scraped some of the dirt off a shock and struck gold( ok, yellow). Found factory Koni's w/ blue stripe...sweet!
I pulled them off and they seem good to me, if I dial them all the way down, I can barely move them up or down. So, a question: What's the recommended setting for mostly track use? They were set to the softest when I pulled them off. ![]()

It depends on the size of torsion bar you have in the back, if you have larger torsion bars you should have the shocks set firmer. I set mine to about the middle setting on my stock torsion bars. Understand that the torsion bars and shocks serve different purposes and you cant just set the shocks to full firm to "stiffen up" the suspension.

thought I'd post my setup results for later searchers...
I set the shocks to 3/4 of a turn from firmest setting, installed bigger swaybars - 18mm rear and 25.5 on the front. Replaced transaxle fluid with Mobile 1 synthetic. Very happy with the results. I did some mild testing where I could find 3rd gear corners/onramps, but I hit it pretty hard in 1st/2nd gear in a big empty parking lot, kinda autocross scenario I guess. The car went from a bad understeer setup before to a slight oversteer now. I'm surprised how much better it sticks, pretty much pushing the limits of the street tires now. It's still very drivable on street and shifting is much smoother, too.
