Does anyone know where the vacuum lines on the pass. side firewall go??
There are three vacuum lines that come out of the pass. side firewall but I have no idea where they go. I can't find a diagram that shows these lines. One of them comes off of the black canister in the battery compartment. The second one is orange in color, and the third one is right next to the orange one. Any idea?? Thanks.

the one off of the canister tees off of one of the main lines from the throttle body IIRC. the canister is for 'vacuum reserve' or some such thing. the others belong to the heater controls, i think.
|
Are you sure it goes to the throttle body? Clarks garage shows some lines going off the throttle body, but it doesn't show one going to the canister that I described.

what year is your car? i don't think the 85.5 and later cars have the canister. that diagram is for the later cars. my '83 had one and it teed off of one of the main vacuum lines. there may be other stuff along the route, i can't remember. your best bet is to find a good picture or look at another car.

My car is a 85/2. The following thread kind of helped, but I am a little confused. So, from the top of the heater valve a vacuum line tees off and one line goes to the brake booster, and the other goes to the vacuum reserve canister?? file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/Owner/Desktop/heater%20valve%20diag.htm

well, I found this diagram. I just need a little help please. #4, and #5 on the "right side diagram" seem to be the vacuum lines that I am talking about. Where do they go to??http://www.clarks-garage.com/shop-manual/hvac-01.htm

i took some pictures:

You are awesome. I really appreciate your help. One last question....is there another vacuum line which comes out of the firewall next to the orange one?? If so, does it connect to the heat control valve? Thanks again.

Hi - I had to track this down last year.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1206823390.jpg Number 4 and 5 are the ones you are looking for I think. 4 comes from the intake manifold vacuum source and 5 goes back out from the heater unit and connects to the heater water valve that is kind of under the back end of the intake manifold. this turns on and off the circulation of hot water to the heater. |
Thank you guys. I think I am going to take detailed pictures of all of the vacuum lines and post them here on the forum. It was such a pain in the a** to figure out all of the vacuum lines. When I started, none of them were hooked up. Thanks again
