A little help with some transaxle code & #'s

hi again,

I have three transmissions of varying years and cars. I have had many cars through the garage and can no longer pin point what is what.

1. 5S 10045 - this is the only trans I know came from a 85.5

2. MB 29041 - this has the larger diameter 944 shaft - also # 016.301.103R

3. XT 04047 - this has the smaller 924 shaft also # 033.301.103

Any help would be great. I have run multiple searches, tried pelican, and clarks garage without success. I have looked through manuals and porsche books and just cant seem to make sense of the 2nd and 3rd trans's.

Number 1 and number 2 look virtually identical, with very very minor sensor difference (number 1 has additional 85.5 sender)...

Thanks

The MB is 016G 5 speed from 81 to 82 924turbo, USA.

The XT is 099A 4 speed from 78 to 79 USA and Japan 924.

Found this info in the 924 Technical Specifications booklet (out of print).

Dunno, I'm just a 944 guy, so don't know the 924 cars as much as I could.

Hello,

The 5S Transaxle is for 944 (1985.5 - 1988) USA, Canada, Japan - Without LSD

Nope - 924T has same size shafts (incl torque tube) as the 944. Only the 924NA has the smaller (20mm vs. 25mm) shafts.
