anyone use a shift light?
Helmet on, wind blowing, too quiet of a muffler, other cars too loud...some of the things I blame for my over revving at the track.
I'm thinking about getting a progressive shift light to mount on the dash. I saw them on F1 cars and it peaked my interest. I'd like to use it with the factory tach. I thought about the factory shift light for fuel economy, does that work off of vacuum or a relay that I could potentially use? If anyone's using or had one, I appreciate any input how you set it up. something similar to this... http://www.autometer.com/cat_accessoriesdetail.aspx?vid=203 |
I started looking at a shift light... eventually realized a data acq system with built-in programmable shift lights gets me a lot more utility! Consider it; good GPS systems now run under $1k, and you WILL find seconds (where else can you get that kind of return on investment on the racetrack???)!!

some day, but I still have a long list for race prep. I was hoping to get by on the cheap. I had a guy offer to sell me a cheap used Autometer tach with programmable shift light, but I dont want the giant ugly tach, just the light. I guess I could put it in the glove compartment and use it as a relay for a dash mounted light.
