Rear window film coming loose

Just got my 924S back from the body shop and the new paint job looks great. Unfortunately it looks like part of the rear window film is now starting to bubble and come loose. I don't know if this was caused by heating in the paint booth or what. The film appears to have the defroster grid integrated into it. Is there any clear adhesive that I can apply to the area to re-attach the film temporarily? I imagine eventually I'll have to have the film replaced. Is it possible to get an OEM replacement? I would definitely want a pro to apply it.

What film? You mean window tint? If so the only thing you can do is pull it out and have it replaced.

If you mean the defroster lines I have never seen anything that can fix defrosters that seperate.....on any car, not just these.

Are you thinking the defroster lines are in the tint? Not so, they are part of the glass. If you have tint, then it was added by a PO or tint shop. Just take it there and have them replace it. You are probably right about the heat causing it to bubble.

Yes, upon closer inspection you can see that the defroster lines are not part of the film. I've actually concluded that the area that has been pulled loose was probably caused by masking the rear window in paint prep, then ripping the masking off and pulling the film with it. Unfortunate. Was window tinting not a factory option?

NO, lol. They all have "some" tint in the glass, but tinted glass is aftermarket. This is Porsche, not a ricer car company

It's the same with most cars prior to about 95. Most states (except FL that I know of) didn't allow much tinting of the windows. That's changed some now. Most new cars come with the rear window & back windows tinited to some degree.

So if it's a window tint you can take it out or have a shop do it. Most audio/alarm places do window tints these days.
