951 Oil Cooler Question

Did any 944 Turbos come with a front-mounted oil cooler from the factory? I've got one on mine that's mounted in front of the AC condenser and behind the bumper cover. The stupid thing is leaking oil from the hose connections going into it and I couldn't see a part number on it.

Anyone got any ideas?

yes, the 951 cooler is mounted on the radiator frame on the passenger side. it is a black brick, and about as useful at cooling oil as a turd.

If yours is in front of the A/C condenser, then it is likely aftermarket or modded from something else. Like V2 said, the stock one is to the right (if sitting in the car) side of the radiator.

Mine is squarely in front of the AC condenser. It looks similar to a Mocal unit. The two hoses attached to it go under the car toward the oil pan. I must put this piece of junk on some ramps / stands and look where those hoses are going to. Will get pictures soonish.

Probably the KISS add on cooler kit.

Take the hose to any hydraulic shop or make a new one yourself with AN fittings.

new hoses might be in order for you. but if that's the cooler you have (the KISS unit) thats about as good as they come for a decent price...

that's why i have two on my car
