intermittent problem with idle
 

I'm enjoying the heck out of my '83 944 but intermitently experience a problem at idle. It will sit at around 1100 rpm and then falter and drop to around 800 then immediately come back up. If at a red light it might do it repeatedly and the next time not at all.
One thing that's weird is it seems that while it's doing this I can pull the electric lead off any injector and it stops the pulsing.
Any ideas?

your idle should be around 800, not 1100. Sounds like your dealing with either an electrical issue or a vacuum leak.

+1 for vacuum leak - mine does more or less the same thing, and through the help of other members here I've determined the cause to be a vacuum leak.
