Accerleration Glitch

Need some help from everyone. GOt an issue with my accerlaration. Have been trying to find the problem with no luck. When you give it gas to accelerate, you can feel a glitch, like it is missing, but don't think it is missing due to a new ignition, rotor, cap, coil, plugs and wires. Installed a NEW Vaccume line kit from lindsey racing. Has a NEW Fuel pressure Regulator, and just changed the fuel filter a few months ago. Have noticed when you are ideling at a light etc. seams to have an idel glitch, very small about 50-possibly 100 RPMs varriation. Not sure if that is tied in with the fuel issue. I am running 42 at the rail, I know too high, can't find that problem. Possible fuel pump? Check valve? Fuel Damper? Bad injector? Thanks for any help. Mike

Check the AFM. It could be sending a glitchy signal and simply need cleaning out and readjusting if the resistor strip is worn ( http://www.frwilk.com/944dme/afm.htm ). It could also be a bad fuel injector, maybe a bad oxygen sensor, or bad intake manifold gaskets or some other obscure vacuum leak lurking around. Check that the Throttle position switch is working correctly as well. Maybe it could be a bad fuel pressure damper (just guessing...). Was your fuel pressure stable?

I am having much the same problem right now as well (randomly surging/hesitating under power, sometimes running nice and strong and sometimes quite anemic and inconsistent) I am suspecting there is a leaky or clogged fuel injector(s), since it also idles rough and is sometimes hard to start if it sits for awhile, and also sometimes momentarily starves for fuel when first driving down the street as if there is a void in the fuel rail. I am in the process of getting a set of injectors cleaned and rebuilt by WitchHunter, so I'll know whether that was my problem or not. I'll keep you posted.

Mine seams to be the same on that note. I have taken the MAF apart a few weeks ago and checked and cleand the strip, seamed to be pretty good. Keep me posted. I want to find a set of injectors so I can send them off to be cleaned as well, but this is my daily driver, so I can't be down for over a week. Thanks Mike

PM TNT25169. He might have some, and is a great guy to deal with. Mine's also a DD, so I am getting a separate set together. I hope to get the ones on the car now cleaned afterwards and either keep them as spares or sell them.
