Permanently Disabling the Alarm Module

I was troubleshooting a no start problem on my 1986 951. I narrowed things down and using the Alarm System - Bypassing procedure from Clark's, I was able to get the car to start every time with no problems.

Now, is there any way of permanently disabling or removing the module? Or should I just look for a replacement? The bad one that is in there now keeps ticking. It was doing this before I started the procedure. It sounds almost like a turn signal indicator and it's driving me nuts.

When you follow the directions in Clarks Garage, you are supposed to remove the module from the car completely. Just jumper the cables going to the module.

Thanks George. That did it.
