2.7 engine

What model years was this engine available in 944's ? Was it a good engine or prone to gremlins ? How about parts availability ?

The 2.7 was only available in '89. It is no worse than any other 944 engine as far as reliability. It's just a 3.0 block with a 2.5 crankshaft. Parts are around for these engines and are no more difficult to find with the exception of the head. These heads are sought after items and sell for more than a complete 2.5 engine.
