86 944 heater issus's.

I have a question regarding the blowers in my 86 944.
The problem seems to be intermitent. Sometimes the blowers will only work on 4 ie full blow and setting 1 2 3 wil not operate. I can still get hot or cold air out of the blowers as long as i have it on position 4 on the switch.
Anybody any ideas.I have checked fuses and all are intact?

It seems your blower switch could be bad.
Check the switch.

Thanks for the reply.
At the moment i am not so sure it is the switch that is faulty, but i will follow your advice and check it. If the switch was bad i take it the whole climate control pannel would have to be replaced?
Could there be anything else that would cause the same problem?
Once again thanks for your advice.

Check clarks garage shop manual for heater problems.

The problem with your heater fan speed is the contacts in the resistor pack. The pack is located at the base of the windshield. It's a white plastic piece with a black connector plugged into it.

Thanks for the advice.

I have checked Clarks garage but the info is not relevant for this problem.
The resistor pack, is that located in the car,or the engine bay as this sounds like it could be the answer to the problem.

Cheers

Turned out to be great advice. Got up this morning , went out and gave the resistor pack a slight wiggle and all speeds on the blowers are working fine.
Thanks again 944 Ecology.
