Identify these parts

1988 944 NA

I'm trying to diagnose a no start, and in the process learn about my cars electrical system. Need help to identify the following:

1. Plastic electrical box with a 12 or 14 pin connector that clips to steering column.
2. Metal electrical box just above/next to the hatch and hood release.

Send a message via Yahoo to hpservertech
steering column=central locks
above the switch=cruise control

neither of which are related to a no start.

visit www.clarks-garage.com for troubleshooting steps as well as the search button above.
