Block off plate bolt stripped !!!!!!
I am trying to replace my block off plate on the water pump...the top bolt will not budge and I am worried if I put any more pressure on the bolt it will totally strip out. I already tried lubricating it and it sucks because I cannot get the socket on there because of the fan. I may have to bust the block off plate into pieces so I can get some pliers on the bolt...any suggestions ?

If you haven't tried "PB Blaster Penetrating Oil" get some and give it a shot once or twice a day for a few days before wrenching on it. The stuff really works wonders.
Other than that, if you do shear off the bolt head, weld a nut onto the exposed shaft. The heat from the welding and the new leverage from the new nut usually work. jmd_forest

Take the fans out. Its only six bolts then they pull out the bottom and make your life sooo much easier. Then try the Pb blaster for several days.
