Need Help Installing KYB Cartridges

The KYB strut cartridges are narrower than the strut cylinder. A single "ring" comes with each strut and takes up the space between the strut cartridge and strut cylinder wall. Does the ring go at the top or bottom of the strut? If at the top, what keeps the strut cartridge bottom from wobbling around in the strut cylinder.

I'd ask KYB. Any instructions from them? I would feel better with 2 or 3 rings to keep it steady the whole length. Pics?

Start the ring twords the bottom. then when pushing the cartridge into the housing the ring will walk it's way up and should land in about the middle fo the cartridge.

There were no instructions in the box. Got the number for KYB Tech Support from the vendor. They said the ring goes on top (The ring is flanged so it will not slip down over the strut but acts like a cup with a hole in the bottom that covers the end and lets the strut arm extend through the hole.). The downforce of the glande nut on top of the cartridge keeps the bottom of the cartridge pressed onto the bottom of the strut cylinder and keeps the bottom of the cartridge from wobbling. Thanks to all for responding.
