Arnn Worx Guage Readings

So I bought the 920X and I took some readings on my cam belt...this is a used belt. I came up with an ideal tension of .566 +/- .009. Then I tried it again and came up with different numbers...my question is ? Is this normal to get different readings ? and where it the true ideal setting ? Taking into consideration I have an auto-tensioner I can make my reading move on within the limits of what the tensioner will let me...

its possible but it depends. I have a porsche belt gauge (9201) and initially also obtained different readings. I discovered that you will get a different reading if you turn the camshaft back 10 degrees or so (what porsche recommends), it removes the tension on the belt and you get a "softer", a lower reading. The position of the gauge is also important. I discovered if the tension gauge is not exactly 90 degree towards the belt, the readings will differ. The feet must make perfect contact with the belt. Placing the gauge on different part of the belt, slightly to the left or right does not make a difference because it measures the tension at the gauge.

I use the krikit and take the average of seven readings. Kinda Biblical, huh?
