How do you chase the threads in the block for the head studs?

I have the correct tap. The problem is, it is too short. I must be missing something because I am not a Machinist. Oh, and the tap that Raceware sells is the same length as the one I have. Is there (yet, another) a tool I get to buy to hold the tap?

well you could do a couple of things. Find a small 1/4 drive socket that fits the square end of the tap. Get a bottoming tap not a taper tap unless your already using a bottoming tap. Or buy a thread chaser kit or just buy the size you need. It looks sort of like a tap but has grooves up the side to clean, thread chasers won't accidently cut the treads if your not at the right angle like a tap will.

If your really stuck or you screw up the threads completly your going to have to drill it out and Heli Coil it

I'll just add it to the list...
