				Rear end noise

I've got an 84 944. The problem is roaring in the rear. I took it by the tire shop and the tires were wearing bad on the inside. Replaced the 2 rear and still the roar which of course is worse the faster you go. There is also an occasional click or clunk at steady highway speed from the rear.

I'm planning on replacing the rear drivers side half shaft(rebuilt). Could there be some other issue to consider? Wheel bearings? Thanks for the help |

Sounds kinda like CV's to me. The transaxles on these things are a little noisy too though...but it's a whine, higher pitched like. Also the wheel bearing is quite possible, but the clunk sounds like CV. Change the CV's and if it still does it, try the wheel bearings.
