Trunk lock broke, 1991 944 S2 Cabriolet

Today, when I tried to unlock my trunk with a key, it wouldn't open. Then I tried to open it with the electrical switch, I could hear the unlock mechanism trying to work, but no luck in opening the trunk. I went to the owner's manual, and there were only emergency instructions for the hatchback.....sadly, none for my Cabriolet.

Has anyone else had this problem or seen a way to open the trunk in an emergency situation?
