944 engine transplant

Is it possible to easily transplant the engine out of my 1983 944 to a 1986 944. Both have manual transmissions?

Thanks in advance

yes

expect to have to replace small things like hoses and connectors, but you can do it.

'83 has a different type of idle control valve, and different wiring. If you use all of the fuel and control systems from the '86 you should be fine. As noted above, maybe a few detail items need to get swapped as well.
