Injection Molded Dash Cover...Better Install Method?

I recently purchased the injection molded Coverlay Dash Cover and would like some opinions on installation. The instructions say to use the provided silicone seal sparingly around the edges. I'm thinking that installing it more like one installs a formica countertop would be better....use a notched trowel and spread an adhesive over the entire surface. I'm considering using urethane windshleld adhesive as opposed to the silicone seal provided with the kit.

Anyone have any experience or opinion on this?

I have a cap on my dash that was installed the PO and it is beginning to show signs of significant warping in the center. It was only secured on the edges as you describe and I have often thought about trying to cure the problem. It sounds like your idea would solve the warping problems that I am having. Keep us updated.

I took my dash out for some R & R and installed my cover properly then. Of course, by that time it had warped...
