How can I check a Motronic brain?
 

I bought a parts car for the hatch and it has a good looking brain in it. Is there a way i could test it to know if it is useable. I would like to sell it to offset the costs. The car has no motor or tranny to test the brain with. I would rather not have to put it in my DD. So is there a way I can jump certain pins and know if it is good or not. The car is an 86n/a with 123,xxx miles.

Check out 944online.com. If you send them your DME they will test it for free.

Or just put it in your car and drive it up the street and then back.

Thanks, I will do that. And i would just put in my car but it is at a body shop and i wont have time to mess with that when my car is home again.

You can send it to me. I test them for the cost of returning it to you.
