I have noticed that there are a number of different aftermarket manufacturers that sell engine mounts for the 944. In addition to the expensive Porsche mounts.
I have heard the the only the Porsche mounts are worth installing because the others don't last very long. Does anyone know if any of the lower cost aftermarket mounts are as good as the OE Porsche mounts? Since is takes a few hours to replace the mounts, I only want to install the longest lasting mounts.[img] |

The cheapest ones ($40/ea)you see are very prone to premature failure. The aftermarket Mayle units are good and can be found for about ($70/ea), the OE Porsche models always have a P triangle on them next to the part number ($110-$135/ea). The Meyle seem to be a good compromise unless you can find the OE dealer type for $83 like one vendor was selling them for about 6 months ago.

I replaced the mounts on my 968 with the Meyle brand and within 4 months I noticed a bad idle vibration especially with the ac on. I then replaced them with Porsche mounts and the vibration dissappeared. I know the Porsche mounts are oil filled and "I believe" the others are not. If you need a set of Meyle mounts, I'll sell you mine(barely used). BTW I paid $125 each for the Porsche mounts.
