Speedometer help

My odometer stopped working a few weeks ago, as it had before, so I removed it and slid the gear back into place. I did, however, not know what I was doing the first time I reset the gear, and foolishly removed the speedo needle. I replaced it and got it about 1 or 2 mph over what my actual speed was (tested by following my dad at set speeds, and stationary police radars that tell the driver their speed). This time, since it always bugged me I was off, I tried to get it exact again, long story short, it still isn't accurate. Is there any way to adjust the needle without removing it and just replacing it on (I can't get it on the correct spline it seams)? Is there like an adjuster screw somewhere, or anything I can do?

Thanks!
-Randy

P.S.- I know I can send it to North Hollywood Speedo, but $130 to have them change it about 2mph doesn't sound that good.

I'm not to sure they were that accurate from the factory. If I were you, I'd be happy where it is.
