944 side guard bumper strips

My 1984 944 is missing the side guard strips that run horizontally across the door to prevent 'parking lot dings.' I'm guessing it's most likely that somebody removed them before a respray and never reinstalled them, but was wondering if this was ever a factory option.

Extra cost factory installed option, M190, "Increased Side Door Strength."

On the sticker for mine it is listed as "Protective Side Moldings" but are deleted which is a common modification.

That is interesting thanks a lot. That option is not on my sales window sticker. So maybe it is a factory delete.

It was an option. Your car didn't come with them... I'd rather have had the rear sway bar yours came with. had to add that on my own :/

In 83 they were an option and I didn't order them when I spec'd out the options I wanted. IMO, they are ugly
