Having a rough issue with my pass side power window. Getting power to and through the switch but she doesn't want to work. Buddy I bought the car from said every year after storage he had to open the switch and clean the contacts before the window would work. Did that and still no dice
![]() Tested it last night, 75ohms resistance through the motor. I'm figuring the motor's shot out. If so is there any special tooling for removing door skins? Anyone else have this problem before?

Yes! It,s a Phillips screw driver LOL
The only thing that you have to watch for is the hand rest top part it doesn't separate from the door skin. After all the screws is off(Including the hand rest bottom part) and release the clips on the door skin. Lift the door skin together with the hand rest Up ward and is off the door. And also take the switch off . Good Luck . _____________________ Bud 87 930 Black 86 951 Black 86 944 N/A red part car 87 944 S White 83 944 N/A Black 83 944 N/A White Auto |

Ooops I didn't notice you have an 84 model.
I remember having that kind off problem with my 83 and every time the window doesn't work I had to take apart the switch to make it work up to the point it still not working after cleaning the switch. I end up replacing the switch with new one. ------------------- Bud |

Get an interior tool from your local auto parts store. I looks like a 2 pronged fork. It is very helpful separating the panel from the door. There are plastic plugs embedded in the panel. You could try a screw driver, but you run the risk of popping the plug away from the panel. Then you need to glue the plug back in because the panel is essentially cardboard.
This tool is very handy and is not very expensive.
