These newer wheels don't fit my 944S

I needed new tires very badly. I accidentally ran across some brand new tires wrapped around 17" two piece cup II style wheels- replicas for $400 at a tire shop. The previous owner put new tires on them and decided he wanted larger diameter for his '02 911 and asked the shop to sell these for him. The tires alone cost more than $400. I acted on impulse and probably should not have because they do not fit, they stick out too much. Also I can hear the rear rub a bit under a hard shift or corner but that could be because my rear shocks are pretty much done. I don't have spacers, so correct me if I'm wrong but there isn't much I can do with these, right? At least they were cheap! Anyone know if they will fit a 928?

A more appropriate question, is what is the offset? How much do they stick out and where do the rubbing occur?

I suppose they could be rolled to avoid the rubbing but they would look better if they were in about 1/2" or so. I don't have anti-lock brakes so I'm wondering if I could put some early hubs and rotors on? Course then they may not stick out far enough.

It's got to be an offset issue with the wheel itself, because I had 255's on the rear of mine without any issues other than pretty nasty understeer.

I don't think they were Mille Miglia, they said made in USA on the back but I didn't notice an offset number. The rears rub right at the top and the tires stick out about as far as the fender does. The fronts have not rubbed yet but the tires stick out maybe 1/4" past the fender lip at it's widest part at the top.

Eary Rear Hubs use a 23 mm spacer standard. Get any early hub/Rotor and don't use the spacer.

expensive and labor intensive mods just for a cheap set of wheels/tires.

i'd sell them for a profit and buy the tires you need.
