Hmm, looks like a little front end collision too?!?
There is no such thing as a $500 Porsche

Paid $500 for our 86 NA in June 2007. $2000 worth of parts and paint and about 500 hours of labor over the course of a year and its now my son's daily driver.

My S was $900. Suspension refresh, tires and a new radiator, it's now the wife's DD.

Here's my $500 Porsche. It was really thrashed, mechanically, but with a great body and paint.

I got it from a Navy guy who had been racing it - he'd stripped the interior. It had oil in the coolant, and I think he thought it'd blown the headgasket. It didn't run (bad ref sensor).

I changed the gasket in the oil cooler, flushed the engine and it was good to go. Since then, I've dumped about $7,000 in it, restoring it, and don't regret any of it. It's a great car, is reliable and gets great mileage.

It came with the Fuchs which are in great shape, which are probably worth double what I paid for it. I just stripped the black paint off a few days ago - I'd had no idea they were gold until some of the paint flaked off.

Well, I'll chime in. My 944 was $500. Yes it's rough but I love it and it is an in progress so just nasty pics so far.

Both my '87 924S and my '81 931 I paid $500 for. The '87 had 39,000 original miles and had been stored in a residential garage on blocks for over 10 years. I put about 1800 into it and had used it for DE at Watkins Glen. I just finished rebuilding the turbo in the 931 (the reason the PO sold it). I probably spent 400 on all the parts. It runs great and will be seeing the track this year too.

$500 USD Porsches are out there, you just have to look a little harder and be willing to roll up your sleeves and get dirty.

Mine was a little more then $500. But after selling the saratoga top and the fusch wheels, I've made money off it. So I've only had to pay out around $600 for mine so far.
