Hood question
Will a '83 924 hood fit a '83 944?

924S hoods and 944 hoods are interchangeable, so there is no difference in how they meet the header panel or the fenders. Only difference may be in either A) mount holes or B) the latch.
this is a good question though.

I don't think the 924S came out till 87
I think he has a regular 924 ?? Which I think will work since I've seen guys with 931 hoods on both 924's and 944's. Lets look at GT Racing section and look for bolt on compatable. http://www.gt-racing.com/pdfs/GTR944.pdf confirmed same..

924 hood may not have provision for hood shocks.
Neat note - my 944 is so early it's got pickup points for 924-styles hood supports.

thanks for the replies.
To clarify, it's a 924, not 924S. There is a black 924 in my local Pick-n-Pull they say is an '83, and my brother's black '83 944 needs a hood, both even have about the same patina. Other than the slight visual difference of being smooth vs having the 944 lines, if it bolts up and latches he'll be happy. Thanks.

It'll have the 944 lines, and being an 83 hood, it may have pickup points for hood shocks, too. If it's smooth, suspect it.
