Early 944 Windshield Trim
All,
I am having a cracked windshield replaced and the glass installer had to remove the trim. Unfortunately, it was not put in right and it had to be destroyed to remove the glass. I don't want to buy trim from the dealer, too expensive and it needs to come out of Germany. Couldn't find anything complete on EBAY. Does anyone have the sides and top piece of windshield trim from an 83 to 85 944 in good shape? Can pay via paypal. Thanks

Wait, did the installer destroy it or was it previously installed incorrectly?
If it was fine and the installer destroyed it I'd think that they should replace it with the OEM from Germany.

It was previously installed incorrectly. I broke the windshield - self inflicted. I dropped an item I was carrying from the garage into the house. Can't tell you how upset I was. An OE windshield isn't cheap.
I ordered a new piece of glass from Porsche. They matched the Sunset Imports price. The problem is the trim.

Bummer! At least you get Sunset's discount. If you live in the state, you don't get the price break, much to my chagrin.
Might it be the same trim as on a 924? Maybe the folks at 924.org would have some of the pieces you need. I know the earlies and the 924's share some components.

i believe i've got some trim pieces (don't get *too* excited, i still need to verify they exist in the garage), not sure what it'd be like to ship either, or how secure it would be... but i can check on it for you.

Mike,
Thanks, I look forward to hearing from you. I'm not opposed to repainting the trim. I just don't want dents or broken / missing pieces. Thanks
