new 924s owner i dire need if help

I bought my first of hopefully many porsche's. I put a head gasket and oil cooler seal in it when i first bought it then a damper plate shortly after. Now the car runs extremly rich and randomly smokes a dark grey smoke when it feels like. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated I've already gotten alot of good info from here hopefully I'll be able to get the help i need now

Check and recheck that all your sensors are plugged in. I'd start with the engine temp sensor. If it isnt plugged in then it ill send a "cold" reading to the DME which in turn will screw up the mixture for the actual conditions.

Blue/grey smoke is usually an oil problem.

OK...hoping it is a simple fix, did you change the AOS (air-oil separator) seals when you did the HG? If the 2 o-rings were bad it will cause a vacuum leak and cause grey smoke.

Did you do any compression tests before you did the HG? This would let you know the condition of the rings. Did you see any scratches on the cyl walls?

When i did the hg the cyl walls looked great but i noticed to day the oil smells like fuel has me wondering if it's a pressure regulator prob

Could be. Keeping it simple and since you just bought the car. Oxygen sensor?
Do you know when it was changed? If the past owner (PO) sold you the car in "as is" condition, the sensor may be original.

With the damper plate problem originally, the car could have been sitting for months or years. Get new seals and hats for the injectors, clean and flush (see tech section above) and reinstall. You may have an injector that is not sealing correctly.

Yes it could be the pressure regulator but you may as well start with the easy stuff. Then you can check the AFM (air flow meter).
