A/C Compressor elec connection ??
I am trying to replace the A/C compressor & i can't figure out how to unplug the electrical connection from the compressor.
The manual states "unplug the connector"???? ya think??? It appears that it is held on by some type of demonic metal retaining ring from h3ll. I could just grab onto the plastic plug with some vice grips & use brut force, but the outcome of that approach usually isn't good. So i thought i would consult with the brain trust here to see if i can get any help as to how this electrical connection unplugs. any help would be great Thanks, it's hot here & i would REALLY like to have working A/C |
It has about an 8 inch lead on it. If you can't get it loose, cut it and splice in a new connector.
Try twisting (loosen) then separating it. |
I did this recently and wedged a screwdriver under the connector I believe and then wedged like hell. I wasn't concerned with breaking it however, but I think it came out just fine.

Plus i don't want to have a spliced shrink wrapped wire on the bottom of the car exposed to all of the road elements if i can avoid it |
Cut it and splice in a male/female spade connector on each end. It wont be a problem.

IIRC it really is JUST a spade/butt connector...
Cut, splice, heatshrink twice. Just don't rip it out of the harness if you do try to pull/pry! |
