Rich came down here to pick up some signs.

I'll let him tell the story.

Well, I guess Rich isn't going to chime in...

Tuesday afternoon I got a text message from Rich that he would be in my "hood" for a "joa". Turns out "joa" is text-mispelling of "job".

About a half-hour later, I get a phone call from him. His car died between the Veterans and Main Street exits on 55 south--on the north end of town. He's going to try to get it started on his own...

Another half-hour goes by and he calls me and says he can't figure it out. I offer to help him. I head home and change out of my work clothes and pack up my Porsche tools. I find his car and we get to work.

Turns out fuse #11 was blown (fuel pump). After the fuse is replaced, the car fires right up. Of course, I don't believe fuses just blow on their own. I recomend to Rich that he pick up a pack of 15 amp fuses to make it home on--and that he lay off the boost for the return trip.

For some reason, the fuel pump is drawing too much current occasionally and blowing its fuse. My guess is either the fuel filter needs changing or the fuel pump is on its way out. It could also be a clog in the fuel line or a bad fuel pressure regulator or a bad fuel pressure dampener, but I don't see those as likely (though not impossible).

I hope he gets it sorted out soon so that he can make it to Nick's.

Sorry been busy...I was actually gonna post a "Thanks Chris Post" but I havent had any free time. So yeah I was almost to my destination when she died on me. Yeah I was probably boosting way too much had here close to 120 a few times during the empty roads on my way downstate. I concurr with the fuel filter.
So after picking up my job I called Chris to meet up for a little bit and we meet at Hooters...Yes for the wings. Why else would we go there. Those wings were so good. Apparently Chris has a secret recipe or something. I may just come down there for the Hooters wings alone.

Hey Rich,
I think I left a brand spanking new filter somewhere inside the pile of stuff. I thought I took but cant find it. Man I cant find a lot of stuff since I moved. If you remember please bring down to Nicks GTG. Ill make a formal list of stuff I'd like for you to bring me if its not a bother.

The local Hooter's has a few "off menu" items that all of us locals know about, like Spicy Jack wings and the Strip Cheese sandwich.

I will look for the fuel filter in the morning. If all else fails I have an extra I bought for my car a while back.
