When I was doing my chain tensioner I dropped one of the copper washers down in to the oil return ports. I ran a half quart of oil after it and then drained my oil but I have not found it. My question is do in need to pull the pan to get it or will it be fine to let it sit in the pan till the next oil change? The car is a 1990 944S2 Cab

My friend dropped the same exact copper washer when doing the tensioner on his 944S. He never did find it and never had a problem. He did end up spinning a rod bearing on the track, but that was because he was low on oil. I honestly wouldnt worry about it too much.

Don't sweat it. The screen on the pump pickup will catch it.
Get a new one, and drive the hell out of it. |
